When I first discovered Château de Nainville-les-Roches, just outside Paris, it felt like stepping into a childhood dream of France. From the symmetry of its gardens to the grandeur of its interiors, every detail reflects the timeless elegance international couples seek when they choose France for their destination wedding.
This editorial was created to showcase how a modern, fashion-forward wedding can come to life in a historic château, blending classic French refinement with a contemporary editorial vision.
A PARISIAN CHÂTEAU WEDDING WITH A MODERN EDGE
For this shoot, we intentionally chose white as the dominant color, allowing the château’s architecture and volumes to shine. The floral design was composed exclusively of white blooms — moth orchids, roses, thistles, lisianthus, and peonies, subtly accented with greenery that echoed the surrounding gardens.
To create contrast and visual impact, the groom wore a black tuxedo, adding a graphic, editorial touch to the overall aesthetic.
Two modern wedding dresses were selected for the bride. The first featured dramatic detachable bows, while the second offered a sculptural skirt construction, refined yet unconventional. Together, they embodied a chic, fashion-driven interpretation of bridal elegance.
The atmosphere was deliberately contemporary: elegant, intimate, and confident, inspired by the idea of a stylish Parisian couple celebrating their love in an iconic French setting.
CHÂTEAU DE NAINVILLE: A HIDDEN GEM FOR A WEDDING NEAR PARIS
As a wedding photographer based in France and working throughout the country, I discovered Château de Nainville almost by chance. A spontaneous opportunity led me to photograph there, and it immediately revealed itself as an extraordinary venue.
Located in Essonne, just 30 minutes from Paris, the château is ideal for couples who want the grandeur of a historic estate without being far from the capital. Built in the 19th century in the Louis XIII style, the château spans over 3,000 square meters and is set within 27 hectares of manicured gardens.
From the moment guests arrive, they are welcomed into a spectacular entrance hall featuring a rotunda and a grand stone staircase, a breathtaking backdrop for ceremonies, portraits, and unforgettable first impressions.
AN EXCEPTIONAL SETTING FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE CELEBRATION
The château’s French formal gardens provide a refined setting for outdoor ceremonies and editorial-style portraits. Inside, four interconnected salons offer a sense of flow and opulence, perfect for elegant receptions.
The bell tower and chapel arch add a poetic, almost cinematic dimension to the venue, ideal for couples who value symbolism, history, and atmosphere.
Beyond its architecture, Château de Nainville owes much of its soul to its owners, Denis and Virginie, whose warmth, kindness, and attention create a truly welcoming environment. Their presence elevates the experience, making every wedding feel personal, serene, and thoughtfully hosted.
