As a wedding photographer in Normandy and its surroundings, I discovered this architectural gem during my trip to Normandy for an exclusive training session with fellow photographers. Welcomed by a warm couple and an exceptional team of vendors, including a makeup artist-hairstylist, wedding planner, florist, wedding designer, and of course, the charming owners of the castle, the experience was simply magical.

This inspiration shoot was orchestrated to allow us to capture images for our communication.

As a professional wedding photographer, it can sometimes be challenging to use photos of real couples, out of respect for their right to privacy. This is where these inspiration shoots become invaluable, providing a perfect canvas to express creativity and artistic talent. An enriching experience that surpassed my expectations, and I am eager to share these captivating moments with you!

A Castle, a Wedding in Normandy

In a world of elegance and refinement, the Renaissance architecture of Château de Tilly blends with the timeless beauty of a loving couple during a wedding. The majestic architecture of Château de Tilly serves as the backdrop for this photo shoot, capturing the grace and grandeur of the Renaissance era. Shades of purple and violet present in every detail create an enchanting visual harmony, embodying both royalty and passion while echoing the castle’s facade.

The married couple embodies love, tenderness, and complicity. Their radiant smiles testify to the pure emotion that emanates during a wedding ceremony. Two exquisite dresses have been carefully chosen for this memorable day. The first, accompanied by an elegant cape, is perfect for the ceremony, while the second, adorned with puff sleeves, embodies boldness and glamour for the evening.

Château de Tilly: An Enchanting Setting

The fortified enclosure, a historical monument, reveals a facade merging brick and stone, embodying the Renaissance aesthetic in Normandy.

The facilities allow for weddings ranging from 50 to 300 people within the castle and up to 400 people in the adjacent orangery. The four splendid lounges provide elegant spaces for grand ceremonies and receptions.

For guests, the castle offers 21 sumptuously appointed rooms, providing accommodation for up to 62 guests. The well-maintained gardens add a touch of natural charm, providing an ideal setting for memorable photos and moments of relaxation.

As a wedding photographer, when I discovered Château de Tilly, the warm color of the walls immediately caught my eye: amidst this natural setting, the bricks add unparalleled charm to the castle.

Next, I noticed the gardens, the blooming shrubs, the lovely towers, and the opportunity to have a secular ceremony with the castle in the background, with a perfect orientation towards the sun—something rare enough to be noteworthy!

I particularly enjoyed the wooded lounge with its charming fireplace: very bright in the morning, this place is ideal for photos of the preparations and even the first look, along with some group photos before the arrival of the guests.

There are plenty of locations for the couple’s session: to be away from the gaze of the guests, the newlyweds can go behind the castle, towards the old castle ramparts, or to the side of the castle, which is just as photogenic for pictures with the castle in the background.

This castle has all the attributes necessary to satisfy my fine art photographer’s eye!
